Louisville Rowing Club
For rowers in grades 7–12. No experience needed.
On a junior crew, every seat matters, and each athlete depends on their teammates to get across the finish line. Our rowers build fitness, friendships, and confidence on the water, whether they’re brand new or chasing a championship.
“Juniors” is the category of rowing for middle and high schoolers, not just high-school juniors. Rowers in grades 7 through 12 are all welcome.
Juniors row in one of three squads, so every athlete is in the right place to grow.
For 7th–9th grade rowers looking for a recreational introduction to the sport: learning the stroke, the equipment, and how a crew moves together in a supportive, no-pressure setting.
A competitive squad for rowers learning the sport and working toward Varsity, building technique and fitness and racing along the way.
Our top competitive squad: experienced rowers training and racing at the highest level the club offers, with an eye on championship regattas.
Our Novice and Varsity squads travel about 10 times a year to regional and national regattas, racing throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
Fall season runs August through early November. One registration form covers all three squads.
Register for Fall 2026A lower-commitment introduction. No racing this season, just learning, teamwork, and getting on the water.
Foundations is for athletes who want to try rowing without the pressure of competition. The focus is fun and low commitment: getting on the water, learning boat handling, working as a team, and deciding whether to join the competitive program down the road.
Foundations won’t be racing, but Louisville is hosting its first-ever regatta on October 10, 2026 at the TurfMutt Great Lawn on the Ohio River. We hope all our Foundations athletes and families will come out to watch.
